As witnessed by the previous post, the parents are not on board. I emailed my mom (Aunt Diane), and she isn't as supportive of the idea as previously thought. Entonces! The question that now lays before is: do we still want to try and make this happen, or perhaps try for the following summer or perhaps just give up altogether?
If we do still want to make this happen for THIS summer, we need ideas on how to salvage this.
This is your Ultimatum, folks! We need help from EVERYONE in order to make this happen, either now or the following summer. Thank you.

I vote (unfortunately) for cancelling it this summer (since I'm pretty sure that we'll be denied that), but I think that we should start planning a new trip for NEXT summer (2010) for out west. I also invite Grandma to go with us.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a great experience for her to get to go back to some of her old tromping grounds, and for us to get to hear stories of when she was there.
If we do wait until next summer we will ALL be able to drive. Grandma is over 21 and doesn't count, as will Amanda. Cayla can ride with me because she is my sibling. Kristina would need written and signed permission to ride in the car, but it would work.
We would also have Grandma (and I don't know a more responsible adult).
We will all be able to drive and have a responsible adult. I think that we may have them beat!!!
I almost wonder if maybe we should open it up for everyone that wants to go (parents and grandparents included) with the stipulation that if they want to go they have to pay their own way. We should come up with some itinerary and prices and whatever and see how much we could do it for. I think it would be a lot of fun! I think, however, that we should offer to pay for Grandma and/or Grandpa to go. Or add it all up and divide by 4 instead of 6, or 6 instead of 8... That kind of thing...
ReplyDeleteWe should take this under consideration.
why would i need written permission?
ReplyDeletei think that would be a good idea to do it next summer. and why just grandma, wouldn't grandpa feel left out?
and we would have to start figuring out how much it would cost, and how long... and so forth...
